In these recessionary times, more and more people feel that suicide is the answer and are not thinking clearly enough to realise the broken hearts and carnage that they will leave behind.
Suicide is a growing problem in Ireland and we need to try to address it AS A COMMUNITY – Wexford has already been identified in the National Media recently as a suicide blackspot. Everybody has their bit to play – by making even a small €€ contribution to Wexford MarineWatch, this could make the difference between one of our crew being on-hand when these people need it most – and prevent a family from having to mourn the loss of a loved one.
“Suicide is a matter of ‘Life or Death’.
3 times more people die by Suicide in Ireland than die in road traffic accidents. Deaths by Suicide are devastating for those left behind, for families and loved ones and entire communities – Yet Suicide is preventable. Every life is priceless and every cent earned for suicide prevention is invaluable”.
